HISTORY
In Peter Pan Goes Wrong, the team behind the Tony Award-winning global hit, The Play That Goes Wrong, bring their trademark comic mayhem to the J.M. Barrie classic Peter Pan. The play premiered at the Pleasance Theatre in London in 2013 before touring the UK in 2014 and finally transferring to the West End. Peter Pan Goes Wrong showed at the Apollo Theatre for a special Christmas season run in 2015, running from December 2015 until February 2016.
The play was adapted into a one-hour television special which was broadcast on 31 December 2016 on BBC One, guest starring David Suchet as the narrator and featuring the original cast. It then returned to the Apollo Theatre the following year for a second Christmas season run from October 2016 until January 2017, marking it as the third show running in the West End for Mischief after The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery. The play then began a second UK tour in October 2019 at The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham before visiting Cardiff, Cambridge, Brighton, and Salford prior to its final Christmas run at the Alexandra Palace in London from December 2019 until January 2020.
Peter Pan Goes Wrong transferred to Broadway in 2023 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre for a limited 16 weeks beginning in March, featuring most of the original cast and with guest appearances from Neil Patrick Harris and Ellie Kemper during its run. The production then premiered in L.A. at the Ahmanson Theatre with special guest appearances from Bradley Whitford and Daniel Dae Kim, before Neil Patrick Harris returned to the role until its closing night in September 2023.
