HISTORY
Following TV Specials Peter Pan Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, Mischief debuted The Goes Wrong Show in December 2019 with festive special, The Spirit of Christmas, broadcast on BBC One, with the rest of the six-part series airing in the New Year including The Pilot (Not The Pilot), A Trial to Watch, The Lodge, Harper’s Locket and 90 Degrees.
A second Christmas special, The Nativity Goes Wrong, aired in December 2021, followed by five further episode of Season 2 in 2022 including Summer Once Again, The Most Lamentable Tragedy of the Prince of England and His Long Lost Twin Brother Prince Regent of France and the Problems Therein Experienced by All When they came to Know of One Another after a Battle, There Is No Escape and The Cornley Drama Festival Parts 1 and 2.
Every week, the well-meaning amateurs of the Cornley Dramatic Society perform a half-hour play – live! –: a horror story, a wartime drama, a legal thriller, a period romance, a deep south melodrama and a Christmas fable. And every week, the performance goes terribly, terribly wrong. Sets collapse, special effects fail, actors dry – life, limb and the studio audience are threatened. But the show must go on… From the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong.
Series one sees The Cornley Drama Society undertaking another (overly) ambitious endeavour, held back by prolific over-actor Robert Grove, the screen-hogging Sandra Wilkinson and the artistically mistrusted Dennis Tyde. Six brand new, hand-crafted, half hours of theatrical catastrophe include the gripping courtroom drama “A Trial to Watch” and World War II spy thriller “The Pilot” (which is not the pilot). The Goes Wrong Show is simply Mischief’s biggest disaster yet.
